Poem - Silence

She hadn't talked much in many years before,

A faith lost that didn't restore.

She stopped going outdoors,

And stopped keeping any scores.

It's like she locked her soul in a jar,

And threw in the ocean far.

Time went by and she'd forgotten it all,

Until she began to recover from her fall.

She then began talking to one,

And found again the rays of the sun.

Little did she know the ocean opened her jar,

By hitting its waves to her tune with its guitar.

She swam through the tides,

And found her faith from where she hides.

She again walked outside with her head held high,

But just for a while till returned the sigh.

The waves began to curve again,

Succumbed she fell, to that same old pain.

She had just sold her silence to retrieve her soul,

to what she thought was the ultimate goal.

Heading out became too tiring too soon,

She began returning to another jar of gloom.

She'd again talked enough she finally thought,

Everything around she again had sought.

This time around she won't lock away her soul,

Nor throw it away but remain whole.

In the stars this time she found solace,

How dead some are yet shine bright with grace.

She'd talked enough and now chooses silence,

Her words otherwise bring out violence.

The waves, she'll still swim through, on high tides,

And Life would still give her bumpy rides.

Her Soul though she's got back from the bottom of the ocean,

But silent she'll stay to avoid more commotion.
